Comprehensive ADHD Evaluation

Children, Teens & Adults

What the Evaluation Answers

A comprehensive Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) evaluation is designed to determine whether a child, teen, or adult meets criteria for ADHD while providing a thorough understanding of how attention, executive functioning, and related factors impact daily life.

Symptoms That Overlap

ADHD symptoms can overlap with anxiety, depression, learning disorders, autism, stress, sleep concerns, and other developmental or psychological conditions. Our evaluations go beyond identifying symptoms to understand the underlying reasons for the challenges and provide individualized recommendations.

Scope of Testing

Areas We Evaluate

Testing may examine:

  • Attention and concentration
  • Executive functioning
  • Working memory and processing speed
  • Hyperactivity and impulsivity
  • Emotional and behavioral functioning

The evaluation also considers whether symptoms may be better explained by or occurring alongside conditions such as anxiety, depression, learning disorders, autism spectrum disorder, or other developmental or psychological concerns.

Diagnostic Clarity

What Can an ADHD Evaluation Diagnose?

A comprehensive evaluation can determine whether an individual meets criteria for:

Presentation One

Predominantly Inattentive

Presentation Two

Predominantly Hyperactive/ Impulsive

Presentation Three

Combined Presentation

Equally important, the evaluation helps identify other conditions that may be contributing to the individual’s difficulties.

Our Goal

More than a yes-or-no answer.

Our goal is not simply to answer, “Does this person have ADHD?” Our goal is to understand the whole person, including why they are struggling, where their strengths lie, what factors may be contributing to their challenges, and what recommendations will best support long-term success.

Going Further

When Might Additional Testing Be Recommended?

Sometimes an ADHD evaluation identifies concerns that cannot be fully explained by ADHD alone. In these cases, additional testing may be recommended to better understand an individual’s strengths, challenges, and support needs.

Additional evaluation may be helpful if there are concerns related to:

  • Reading, writing, or math
  • Learning disabilities (such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia)
  • Anxiety, depression, or other emotional concerns
  • Autism spectrum disorder
  • Intellectual or cognitive functioning
  • Memory, language, or other thinking skills

If additional testing is recommended, we will discuss the reasons with you and explain the next steps. Our goal is to provide the most accurate diagnosis and recommendations to support success at home, school, work, and in everyday life.
